Stephanie Arn

Stephanie Arn is a realist painter born and raised in Toronto, where she currently works out of her backyard studio. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Queen's University.

 "I create oil paintings in a realist style, primarily focused on pets. I find that every pet has certain distinctive characteristics that make them special, be it the mischievous glint in their eye or their dopey, dimpled grin. Working from a photo, I try to find the unique features that capture the spirit of my subject and aim to translate that through painting.

 More recently, I have been fixated with the aesthetic of fruits and am channeling this fixation in larger-than-life fruit paintings on round panels. In this series, I aim to encapsulate the freshness, juiciness, lustre and all of the qualities of fruit that I love so much.”
