Lisa D. Hickey
Lisa D. Hickey is an enthusiastic and nature-loving artist whose paintings hang in private and corporate collections across Canada, the US, Europe and Australia. When she is not in the woods, she regularly shows in galleries, exhibitions, and many other community spaces. Lisa also frequently exhibits with SolidColour Collective and Colourshift Collective, both Toronto-based groups of abstractionists. Passionate about art, colour and painting, and equally as passionate about nature, Lisa works to fuse these great loves into works of art that can speak to anyone.
Lisa has a B.A. in Fine Art from McMaster University in Hamilton and an M.A. from the University of British Columbia. Lisa has received numerous awards and honours, including two Women’s Art Association scholarships for her bachelor’s degree, and a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada award for her master’s studies. She is a graduate of the Cultural Careers Council of Ontario’s “Business of Art” course and belongs to the Artist Network of Riverdale.
Active in her community, Lisa also works as an art educator and has participated in several schools-based artists residencies and facilitated numerous workshops at the elementary, high school, and corporate level.
