Hilary Johnson

Hilary is a hybrid of photographer and artist, a "photo-artist", who takes great liberties with colour, texture and saturation of her images.  She reimagines the familiar places of our daily lives and asks us to remember that adventure is always available to us, even when our movements are limited.  The hand mixed and poured resin atop her work serves to give her wild colourations some extra bling and to make each piece unique with its own tiny imperfections.  Her goal is to create accessible pieces of art that mirror the opposing forces of exuberance and peace that she stumbles upon during her explorations of places near and far.  Hilary is based in east end Toronto and seeks to connect neighbours and visitors to the unique vibe of our little corner of this incredible planet.
