68. Kate Taylor - "Foggy Morning In The Garden" - 12x12"

My art is a joyful interpretation of nature - that feeling when you are deeply present in nature and can absorb its healing properties. The Canadian North inspires me - the distinct feelings of grounded calm and dynamic movement that happens so beautifully in the natural world…positive and negative, energy and calm, push and pull. I create with those seemingly opposing energies always in my mind's eye.

My work is about colour and texture; I consider its weight and placement very intentionally as I strive to capture the movement and energy of the natural world - veering away from the representational and kissing the edge between energy and chaos. My ultimate goal is to create meaningful connections with the viewer in which they feel joy and tranquillity while continuing to discover new shapes, dimensions and elements in the work for years to come.
