Mary Karavos describes her practice as Fine Art Paper Collage. Her artistic foundation began in painting, drawing and sculpture, but she attributes her time spent in Florence, Italy for influencing her unique artistic expression. She was able to create and understand her own art form using only torn pieces of the finest imported papers made in Japan, Nepal, Korea and Thailand.
