Leah Olsen-Kent
"Capturing Nature's Quiet Moments" Leah Olsen-Kent's artistry encapsulates a deep connection to the natural world, emphasizing the serenity and quietude that nature can offer. Her landscapes feature breathtaking sunsets, where the interplay of warm hues and fading light evokes a sense of tranquility and reflection.
Using a combination of spray paint, oil paint, and stencils crafted from natural objects, Leah creates intricate images on wood panels or canvases. She begins with a monochromatic base, gradually building layers to enhance depth and contrast. This method allows her to capture the delicate balance of light and shadow, particularly in the fleeting beauty of dusk.
Resonating with a minimalist aesthetic, Leah's paintings invite viewers to immerse themselves in the subtle beauty and peaceful solitude of nature. Her limited colour palette evokes calm and introspection, encouraging observers to connect with their own emotions and memories as they engage with her art.
Leah works out of her home studio in Cambridge, Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto.
